Isabel Marant Collections
Isabel Marant’s label, founded in 1994, embodies a laid-back but well-considered style with comfort, utilitarianism and an easy bohemian attitude in mind. Designing since she was a teenager in her home city of Paris, chunky knitwear, cowboy boots, wedge sneakers, and menswear-influenced oversized outerwear are all staples of the brand. Marant’s promise of a uniform for “real-life women” is affirmed by the fact that nothing leaves her studio before being tried on by Marant herself. Marant’s diffusion label, Isabel Marant Etoile, aims for the same effortlessness as her main label but with a muted collection of basics. Marant’s bohemian edge and polished ease present itself in her knitwear, t-shirts, and flannel shirts––all done in vintage-inspired colours and patterns.
