Balmain
Parisian fashion house Balmain was founded by Pierre Balmain in 1945 to embrace the tasteful and classic style typical of his era. Now under the creative leadership of French designer Olivier Rousteing, Balmain has been remodelled in a youthful and glamorous image. Rousteing’s womenswear is known for structured blazers and body-emphasizing dresses, and menswear for streetwear influences combined with sharp suiting. Balmain is now a distinctly millennial brand fashioned with symbols and silhouettes inherited from the label’s past. Previous designers include Oscar De La Renta, who led the house between 1993 and 2002, and Christophe Decarnin, who, from 2005 to 2011, brought a sexy, rock n' roll edge that set the pace for the 21st century Balmain look.
