Ordering

How do I know an item will fit me?

Each item description includes measurements and a generic size chart for your reference.

What if the item's condition does not match the condition description on the site?

If you have received an item and its condition description does not match the item upon receipt, please email info@vspconsignment.com with Subject Line: Item Condition and your order number. 

In the body of the email, please add a brief description of the item's condition, along with a few pictures. 

Someone from our team will be happy to assist you.

Are these items used?

We sell both secondhand and new items. New items are classified as NWT (New with Tags) and never worn. Secondhand pieces are categorized in the condition chart as Excellent, Very Good, Good and As Is. For more information, please click here for the condition chart.

Why has my payment been refused?

VSP Consignment works with a third-party e-commerce fraud analyst to check over all of our orders. Your payment may have been refused due to a decision made by this app, which utilizes advanced fraud detection algorithms to assess the risk associated with transactions, potentially flagging yours as suspicious based on various factors such as unusual purchasing patterns, discrepancies in provided information, or previous fraudulent activity associated with the payment method or account.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, American Express, Mastercard), PayPal, Apple Pay, Shop Pay, and AfterPay.

Does VSP offer layaway? If so, what are the terms and conditions?

Yes, VSP offers an interest-free layaway option on all items.

Layaway Details:

  • A non-refundable 25% deposit is required.
  • The remaining balance must be paid in full within 60 days.

How to Start a Layaway:
To set up a layaway plan, please email us at info@vspconsignment.com with links to the items you are interested in. Payments can be made via emailed invoices or in-store.

We also offer Afterpay as an alternative payment option at checkout.

Do you offer virtual viewings or additional videos?

Yes, if you’d like a closer look, we can share additional photos or short videos that highlight details such as condition, texture, and fit. For higher-value or one-of-a-kind pieces, we may also arrange a live viewing by appointment.

Just reach out with the item you’re interested in, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Can I modify my order?

Before Fulfillment:

If you would like to cancel or modify your order information, please email info@vspconsignment.com. Subject Line: Modify Order and your order number. In the body, fill in the updated information and the reason for the modification.

After Order Fulfillment:

Unfortunately, once an item has been shipped, no modifications can be made through VSP Consignment.

What if the item's condition does not match the condition description on the site?

If you have received an item and its condition description does not match the item upon receipt please email info@vspconsignment.com with Subject Line: Item Condition and your order number. In the body of the email, please add a brief description of the condition of the item with a few pictures. Someone from our team will be happy to assist you.

How can I purchase items I’ve seen on your Instagram account?

If you see something you like on our Instagram, you can purchase it directly through our website via the link in our bio. You’re also welcome to send us a direct message (DM) to connect with a Client Care Specialist, who can assist you in securing the item.

Shipping, Returns & Refunds

My order was lost, damaged, or stolen - what should I do?

Once your order has been shipped, it is the carrier's responsibility to ensure safe delivery. VSP Consignment and Vespucci are not liable for lost, stolen, damaged, or delayed shipments.

If your order does not arrive or arrives damaged, please contact the carrier directly to file a claim. You may also initiate a chargeback or dispute with your bank or credit card provider for further assistance.

Please note that delivery issues are outside of our control once a tracking number has been issued.

I live outside of Canada, are duties and taxes included?

We ship internationally. All orders placed outside of Canada will not include duties and taxes at checkout. International orders will be shipped Duty Delivery Unpaid (DDU). Your order may incur duties, fees, and import taxes upon delivery. These fees are determined by your local customs authority and payment of these fees is obligatory to obtain your order. VSP Consignment is not responsible for any additional taxes or duties. In the event the order is refused by recipient the recipient is responsible for additional shipping, customs, duties, and taxes. For more information, please contact your local customs office.

What are REDO flat rate returns?

REDO flat rate returns is an optional service offered at checkout that allows Canadian customers to return eligible items for a fixed, prepaid shipping cost. If selected, customers can initiate a return through REDO’s portal and generate a return label quickly and easily.

Do you transfer products between your Toronto and Calgary locations?

Yes — we offer transfers between our Toronto and Calgary locations at checkout.

If an item is located in a different city, you can request a transfer for in-store pickup. Transfers typically take 5–10 business days to arrive and be ready.

When will I receive my order?

Please see our shipping page for more information.

How does in-store pickup work?

In-store pickup is available at the location (Toronto or Calgary) where the item is currently in stock and is offered free of charge. Please allow up to 48 hours for order processing before pickup.

We also offer free transfers between VSP in Toronto and Vespucci in Calgary. Transfers typically take 5–10 business days for items to arrive and be ready for pickup.

What is your refund policy?

Eligible online purchases may be returned in original condition, unworn and unused, with tags attached, within the stated return window of 7 days. The following items are final sale and not eligible for return:

  • Handbags
  • Jewelry
  • Accessories
  • Swimwear
  • Kidswear
  • Homeware
  • Sale items listed at 20% off or higher
  • Any item in 'as is' or 'vintage' condition
  • Purchases made with Afterpay, layaway, full/partial store credit
  • All purchases made in-store

Does you offer store credit for returns?

We accept returns on eligible online purchases, with refunds issued to the original form of payment. 

All in-store purchases are final sale and cannot be returned.

Authenticity

How do you authenticate an item?

We conduct in-house authentication in our inventory department. Our team takes time to research each piece. The research during the authentication process also helps us determine the right price for your piece!

For select handbags and small leather goods, we have partnered with Entrupy for authentication purposes.

For our fine jewelry selection, most items come with an appraisal certificate.

What is Entropy?

Entrupy uses AI-powered algorithms to authenticate products.

The system analyzes detailed product images using advanced algorithms trained on a vast database of real and counterfeit items. This process happens quickly and accurately through the Entrupy app. To ensure the highest image quality for analysis, especially in luxury authentication, a specialized portable device is used.

Are the items featured online the exact pieces available for purchase?

Yes — every item shown is the exact piece you’ll receive. We photograph each product individually, so what you see on the site is the actual item, not a stock image.

Are you an authorized dealer of the brands you carry?

VSP Consignment is an independent retailer and is not affiliated with the brands it carries. All trademarks remain the property of their respective owners, who are not responsible for items purchased through our website. Authenticity is assessed and guaranteed by VSP Consignment.

Selling

Is a contract required for consigning with VSP Consignment?

Yes, consignors are required to sign a contract before their items can be processed. This agreement outlines the terms and conditions of consignment, including pricing, payment structure, and item eligibility, ensuring clarity for both parties.

How will I be notified if my items are discounted or go on sale?

We do not send individual notifications when specific items are discounted. To stay informed about sales and promotions, we recommend subscribing to our email list.

Will my items go on sale?

Yes, all items are subject to sales and markdowns as needed.

How can I check the balance on my account?

To check your account balance, you’re welcome to call, email, or text us. We recommend checking in every 3–6 months.

What types of items can I consign?

We accept a variety of styles, from jackets, bags, shoes, accessories, homeware, and more. We accept items in vintage, gently worn, and new-with-tags condition.

What are your condition standards?

VSP Consignment hand-selects each piece to include well-crafted, versatile, and contemporary items. While many pieces are pre-owned, we focus on items in excellent overall condition. Minor signs of wear may be present, and we do our best to note any flaws in the product description.

If original size or fabric tags are missing, we provide an estimated size, which will be clearly indicated.

Each item is categorized as New With Tags, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Vintage, and As Is.

New With Tags
Brand new with original tags and packaging.

Excellent
Pre-owned with no visible flaws.

Very Good
Pre-owned with minor signs of natural wear, such as light wear from laundering or dry cleaning.

Good
Pre-owned with noticeable wear and multiple flaws, such as pilling, abrasion, or seam stress. Many issues may be repairable.

Vintage
A collectible piece that is 20 years or older. Signs of age are part of its character. All Vintage items are final sale.

As Is
Shows significant wear, including discolouration, worn areas, or damage that may require repair. All As Is items are final sale.

How are my items valued?

Our inventory team takes time to research your items. Many criteria are considered, including original retail value, current market value, condition, demand, style, and more.

What season are you currently accepting for?

Spring-Summer intake begins in December and Fall-Winter intake begins in June.

Do you offer buyouts?

Yes, we offer buyouts on select items, including watches, fine jewelry, handbags, and more. Each request is assessed on a case-by-case basis, guided by current market demand, value, and condition. To inquire, please message us directly with details of your item, and our team will advise on eligibility.

How do I consign if I live in Toronto or Calgary?

You can bring your items to either VSP Consignment (Toronto) or Vespucci Consignment (Calgary), and we will be happy to review your pieces on the spot.

No appointment is necessary at either location.

If I do not live in Toronto or Calgary, how do I consign?

If you are not able to come to VSP or Vespucci Consignment, you can contact inventory@vspconsignment.com with the subject line: New Consignor Inquiry and your first and last name in the body of the email. 

Attach 1-2 pictures of each item you would like to consign, including the brand name and size. 

Someone from our inventory team will be happy to take a look at your pieces.

What brands are you looking for/take?

We carry a wide range of brands, including pre-owned luxury, designer, streetwear, and contemporary.

What is consignment?

Consignment is when a business sells goods on behalf of the owner. Prior to the sale of goods, a sales spilt and additional fees are determined. VSP Consignment specializes in luxury, designer, and contemporary resale.

What are the benefits of consigning?

When you consign, you can extend the lifespan of your piece by finding it a new home, and you earn some money! Consignment promotes sustainability by contributing to a circular fashion economy. VSP Consignment offers a seamless process for each consignor. We research, conduct in-house and third-party authentication, and price your pre-loved pieces.

Condition Chart

VSP Consignment hand-selects our collections by our stylists to include masterfully crafted, versatile, and contemporary pieces. Although many of our pieces are pre-owned, we strive to collect items of excellent condition, but on occasion, there may be slight signs of wear. We try our best to mention all flaws in our product descriptions. On pieces that do not include the size and fabric tag, we make an educated guess to the best of our ability, and it is noted in the description.

New With Tags

The item is brand new with original sales tags and packaging.

Excellent

This item is pre-owned and has no visible flaws.

Very Good

This item is pre-owned and has minor signs of natural wear and tear, which may include but are not limited to signs of laundering/dry cleaning.

Good

This item is pre-owned and has multiple flaws and signs of wear, including, but not limited to, signs of abrasion, pilling, and tears on seams. Flaws are most likely repairable.

Vintage

This indicates that the item is a collectible from twenty years ago or earlier. Natural distressing, if any, is characteristic of the beauty of use. It is still in good condition for an item from a previous time. All items marked "Vintage" are final sale.

As Is

Items show significant signs of wear, such as worn corners or discoloration, and may have elements requiring repair, like small holes or tears. All items marked "As Is" are final sale.
