Assistant Store Manager
As the Assistant Store Manager at VSP Consignment in Toronto, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the physical store, leading the sales team, and ensuring exceptional client experience. Your responsibilities include achieving business objectives, maintaining company standards, and optimizing employee performance through effective leadership. Operations:
- Lead Opening & Closing procedures in accordance with store standards.
- Assisted senior management in daily operations, team leadership, client experience, and merchandising.
- Maintain an organized cash desk and monitor inventory flow on the sales floor.
- Facilitate reviews of the sales floor, create task lists, and implement strategies to meet sales goals.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Liaise with the team and Executive Assistant to ensure cleaning supplies and organizational tools are available.
Administration:
- Coordinate, monitor, and report on daily operations to Senior Management.
- Complete administrative duties as per store policies/standards.
- Monitor digital client communication and provide feedback.
- Manage Layaways and Stylist Pulls as per company policy.
- Address client complaints and issues promptly.
- Communicate high-priority updates to Senior Management.
- Contribute updates, insights, and suggestions in weekly meetings.
- Complete daily cash reports, count float, and hand off deposits to Senior Management.
Leadership:
- Lead by example, showcasing positivity and kindness.
- Supervise front-of-house teams to ensure sales expectations are met.
- Assist in New Hire onboarding and training.
- Provide feedback and insights to Senior Management for performance reviews.
- Enforce store policies and procedures and communicate them to all team members.
- Resolve staff issues with support from Senior Management.
Qualifications:
- Ability to lead and manage a diverse team.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Minimum two years of retail management or leadership experience.
Working Conditions:
- This position involves working at a retail store location with direct public interaction.
- Standing or sitting for long periods is required.
- Lifting boxes and merchandise up to 40 lbs may be required.
- Extended periods of looking at a computer screen.
- Working in a basement may be necessary.
- Working on weekends, holidays, and peak periods may be required.
