Canada Goose
Polish-Jewish immigrant Sam Tick founded Metro Sportswear in Toronto, Canada in 1957, the company which would eventually grow to become Canada Goose. Their earliest products were snowsuits, wool vests, and raincoats suitable for the Canadian weather. Tick's son-in-law joined in 1972 and invented a volume-based down-filling machine that allowed Metro to produce winter jackets more efficiently. Since the 1980s the brand has developed parkas for expeditions to the coldest climates, and their coats are now massively popular for city wear with the increased demand for functional, versatile and stylish protective apparel for unpredictable weather.
