Loewe
Loewe began when a group of Spanish leather craftspeople consolidated into a single label under German businessman Enrique Loewe Roessberg in 1846. It currently stands as LVMH’s oldest luxury house. In the 1970s the brand introduced fashion ready-to-wear and creative directors have included Giorgio Armani, Narcisco Rodriguez and Stuart Vevers. During the late 2000’s, Loewe scaled back fashion to re-focus on leather goods and their substantial home goods gift business. Now under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson since 2013, Loewe’s fashion perspective has returned with surreal and avant garde apparel and accessories, such as their popular sunglasses and shoes. Modern Loewe prioritizes creative leather manipulation – both geometric and structured, as seen in the Puzzle bag, and soft and slouchy, as seen in the new iteration of their classic Flamenco bag.
