Supreme
Founded in Lower Manhattan by James Jebbia in 1994, Supreme began as a store that stocked hard-to-find streetwear brands catering to skaters, eventually going on to produce their own line of apparel and accessories. Credited with popularizing many ideas that became influential in the larger fashion universe, such as the streetwear model of “the drop”, with its exclusive releases and lines around the block, to collaborating with artists, brands and pop culture figures on limited runs of everything from t-shirts to skate decks to home goods. These collaborations in particular, with brands as diverse as Louis Vuitton and Comme des Garçons, or similarly minded as Stussy and BAPE, helped Supreme’s crossover success. Supreme has come into its own as a classic brand, with their core item logo printed t-shirt becoming a staple in closets worldwide.
